After a fierce battle to notch up the teams like Mumbai,Bangalore and Kolkata.. Reliance,Sharuk should be reall unhappy with the final team they have captured.By having icon players the bidding options of these big teams was already limited hugely and hence they could’n bid for big names like Dhoni or Symonds. But then having Dhoni or Symonds alone doesn’t make ur team stronger by any means. But its a balance of Good batman and Bowlers in this sense Chennai and Hyderabad have outscored their opponents in picking better team.
Lets Start with Ambani’s Mumbai,
Sachin Tendulkar,Sanath Jayasurya,Harbhajan Singh,Shaun Pollock,Robin Uthappa and Lasith Malinga. With No lack of Respect for Sachin and Sanath (Im a self proclaimed Sachin fan).. The team has very few good T20 players Nobody can come down in the order to score some big runs and Both Sachin and Sanath are past their primes. According to me the exciting players could be Robin Uthappa and Lasith Malinga. Even Shaun Pollock is way past his prime. So Mumbai team appears to be very weak.
Mallya’s Bangalore :
Man this team looks bleaker.. Rahul Dravid,Anil Kumble,Jacqueus Kallis,Wasim Jaffer,Zaheer Khan,Shivnarine Chanderpaul ,Nathan Bracken.. what were they thinking when they picked the squad?? None of them except Mark Boucher can be termed as a T20 Player. Hope somebody saves this team..
Shahrukh’s Kolkata
Atleast Kolkata appears to have the best fast bowling department among the teams, Umal Gul is probably the best T20 bowler on show in ICC T20 cup..then Shoaib Akthar, Finally the Tormentor of Aussies our own Ishant Sharma. Even top of the order looks pretty balanced with Sourav,Chris Gayle and Ricky Ponting forming the top three. This side looks pretty balanced and if all the top players are in form they could be a handful.. But Im wondering why they paid so much money to pick David Hussey when Michael Hussey was available?
Jaipur :
I think they really just wanted to pick players upto base price of 3.5 million and they ended up doin a terrible job at this. Kamran Akmal,Younis khan,Shane warne,Simon Katich and even Munaf . If their batman have a good day probably they will have good wins but its ur choice 😉
Mohali :
Though the team would have wanted to be called best bowling lineup.. there will be serious competition from Kolkata, But still looks to be strong bowling side with Brett Lee,Sreesanth and Irfan pathan. With their icon being Yuvraj, this is the only side that really have value for their icon.Butting batting looks good, they have got the exciting Kumar Sangakkara, who is serious contender for World’s best batman in near future. They also have Sarwan, jayawardena and Simon Katich, Piyush chawla and Romesh Pawar.
Delhi :
This is a pretty decent side as well Gautam Gambir,Virendar Sehwag,Shoaib Malik,Manoj Tiwary,Ab De villiers,Dilshan and Dinesh Karthik. But they have a good bowling attack led by Daniel Vettori,Glen McGrath,Mohammad Asif and Fervez Maharoof. This can be said to be one of better sides in the league.
Chennai :
They have a prize scalp of Mahendra Singh Dhoni but even then they have still bought other good players, I will personally rate Michael Hussey to be most under rated batsman in the IPL.He is so consistant and he could prove to be a very lucky choice for Chennai.Mathew Hayden may be struggling against Ishant in Australia, but he is one of the deadly batsman who can win any match single handedly.Abie Morkel,Suresh Raina,Parthiv Patel all form a solid batting line up. They even have good bowlers in Muttaih Muralidharan and Mkaya Ntini.Joindar Sharma and Morkel can fill in us allrounders. So its a good line up.Though IPL is about big hitting but its more of keeping your Nerve and in this department this team has lots of riches.
Hyderabad :
This is the Super Batting Team currently .. Herschelle Gibbs,Adam Gilchrist,Andrew Symonds,Shahid Afridi,Rohit Sharma,Scott Styris.. Probably the best batting line up for any T20 match. With VVS Laxman,Chamara Silva they have good solid options. The Bowling is Led by RP Singh,Chaminda Vaas and Nuwan Zoysa, A all left affair.
